Welcome to the Biochemistry Graduate Association (BGA) of Texas A&M University! The purpose and objective of the BGA is to promote the welfare of the Biochemistry graduate students, enhance graduate student/faculty communication, and to improve the educational experience of the graduate students.
All graduate students of the Department of Biochemistry and Biophyiscs at TAMU are members of this organization. There is no membership fee required to be either an active or regular member.
The BGA is managed by a team of elected graduate student officers and a faculty advisor. Officer positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Outreach Representative, Graduate Program Committee Representative (GPC), Graduate Recruiting and Admissions Committee Representative (GRAC), Graduate and Professional Student Council Representative (GPSC).
The BGA holds regular meetings every other month. Some activities that the BGA is responsible for organizing include: Research Competition, Student Seminar, Summer BBQ’s, Biochemistry 5K, Recruitment Weekend, Halloween Party, Christmas Video, Science Demonstrations at local schools, and much much more!
